2017 bracket

By: TBT Staff | @thetournament

Time to fill out your bracket

TBT has released the seeds, schedule, and brackets for 2017's tournament. Study up on these teams. You have until July 8th to use your remianing votes and to give yourself a chane to win a share of the $200,000 that will go to the fans of the winnning team.

Each region is divided into four different pods. The 32 teams that win their first-round game on either July 8 (Northeast and South) or July 15 (Midwest and West) will face off against the other winning team in their pod the following day for a trip to the Super 16 in New York, New York.

Northeast Matchups

July 8 & 9 @ Philadelphia University (Tickets)

Round 1: Saturday July 8

Round 2: Saturday July 9

Pod 1

#1 FCM Untouchables vs. #16 OPI

Game Time: 11a ET

The size and experience of Kyle Hines, winner of EuroLeague’s Best Defender in 2016 and former NBA players Gani Lawal and Jerrelle Benimon could be too much for OPI, whose tallest player is just 6 foot 7. Untouchables point guard and EuroLeague star Mike James could be the best player outside of the NBA. OPI will be playing to honor their friend Owen Patrick Iannotti (team is named after him who passed away), so perhaps that will provide the extra motivation needed to pull off the upset.

#8 Talladega Knights vs. #9 Paul Champions (via TBT Jamboree)

Game Time: 9:15a ET

The Jamboree may have been the perfect tuneup for Wesley Paul’s Champions. 13-year NBA veteran Earl Boykins proved he can still play, averaging 24.5 points in those two games to earn the final spot in the Northeast region. Josh Boone, Gary Forbes and Stephane Lasme of the Talladega Knights combined don’t match Boykins NBA experience, but the trio will certainly be difference makers in the Knights’ second TBT go around.

Pod 2

#5 Zoo Crew (Pittsburgh Alumni) vs. #12 Sideline Cancer

Game Time: 2:30p ET

A new look Pitt alumni team, Zoo Crew's Levance Fields and Ashton Gibbs compose one of the more legendary college backcourts. The first timers can’t look past St. Joe’s guard Aaron Brown and the experienced Sideline Cancer crew though.

#4 Team FOE vs. #13 DC On Point

Game Time: 12:45p ET

A matchup of two metropolitan cities - Philadelphia vs. D.C. The Morris twins run team led by Villanova’s Maalik Wayns have their eyes set on that $2 million prize after a Super 16 run last year, but D.C. On Point is no pushover. Torin Francis, a TBT champion in 2014, gives D.C.some size inside, while former Florida State guard Isaiah Swann provides some great perimeter shooting.

Pod 3

#6 City of Gods vs. #11 GaelNation (Iona Alumni)

Game Time: 4:15p ET

A great matchup - New York vs. Baltimore, veterans vs. young guns. City of Gods not only has TBT experience but decades of pro experience. Former Washington Wizards forwards Etan Thomas and Mike Hall are some of the team’s elder statesmen. They’ll take on a team of Iona alumni featuring a handful of recent graduates, including 2015 MAAC Player of the Year David Laury and two members of the 2016 MAAC Championship team (Isaiah Williams and Aaron Rountree).

#3 Boeheim's Army (Syracuse Alumni) vs. #14 DuBois Dream

Game Time: 6p ET

One of TBT’s most popular teams, the Syracuse faithful will make sure every Boeheim’s Army game is a home game. Newcomer Scoop Jardine joins the proven core of Eric Devendorf, Donte Greene, Rick Jackson and C.J. Fair. DuBois Dream will have to play the game of their lives to take them down.

Potential round two matchup: An upset by GaelNation would create a Iona-Syracuse matchup in a battle for New York supremacy. But if City of Gods pulls out the victory, it would give Boeheim’s Army the chance to seek revenge for getting bounced in the Elite Eight in 2015.

Pod 4

#7 Team Fancy vs. #10 Rebel Riders (Rider Alumni)

Game Time: 9:30p ET

Villanova’s Allan Ray and Arizona’s Mark Lyons are leading the way for Fancy, and those two are known for getting buckets. Jason Thompson, the longest tenured Sacramento King in franchise history, and his brother Ryan will provide most of the offensive firepower for the Rider alumni team.

#2 Supernova (Villanova Alumni) vs. #15 South Jamaica Kings

Game Time: 7:45p ET

Supernova, comprised mostly of Villanova’s Final Four team from 2009, will be making their third run at a TBT crown, but they’re better than ever. Jayvaughn Pinkston and 2016 NCAA Champion Darryl Reynolds will hold down the paint. After suffering a shoulder injury in game one last year, Scottie Reynolds is looking for revenge in TBT 2017.

Potential round 2 matchup: Allan Ray could end up running into old Nova teammate Shane Clark. Supernova coaches Mike Nardi and Curtis Sumpter, teammates of Ray’s for all four years, will make sure to put together a good game plan to shut him down.

South Matchups

July 8 & 9 @ Queens University (Tickets)

Round 1: Saturday July 8

Round 2: Sunday July 9

Pod 1

#1 Overseas Elite vs. #16 Chattanooga Trenches

Game Time: 12:30p ET
